In case anyone has this issue, have the user run microsoft diagnotic tools. IT fixed the issue.

Do you the link on the microsoft site for the diagnostic tool? Also wanted to know if you are only experiencing this problem with PowerPoint 2007. I have the same issue but only with PowerPoint 2007 coupled with the most current versions of Flash Player (i.e. 10.3.181.34). When I revert it back to an older version of the Flash Player, the error goes away.

Thank you!

If you go into PowerPoint 2007 and click on the round button in the top left corner, you will find powerpoint options at the bottom of the menu. Click on Resources and then click the Diagnose button next to run Microsoft Office Diagnostics. If there are issues on the users machine, this gives a pretty comprehensive list of things that are wrong as well as it tries to repair any issues. Give that a try and see what results it gives you.

Thanks giggles - tried your suggestion but no luck. This behavior seems to happen on some machines with PowerPoint 2007. Tried the Flash Player uninstall/reinstall but no luck. The only thing that seems to work is reverting back to an older version of Flash Player (10.1.159…). However, we all know users will get their Flash upgraded as time goes on which will result in the crash again. FYI, I am using Xcelsius Engage 2008 SP4.

Any help is appreciated. At wits end!!!

I am facing the same problem. This is the only workaround which works for me:

My versions: Windows Server 2008 R2 / xi 3.1 sp 4/ adobe flash 10.3.183.10 /office 2003 SP3
