PM Servers - what are they

Hi,

Had a look in the BOXI Admin Guide and couldn’t find the answer to this question:

What is the purpose(s) of these servers:

  1. PM Metrics Server
  2. PM Repository Server
  3. PM Rules Server
  4. Predictive Analysis Server
  5. Process Analysis Server

Unless you are using Dashboard Manager with Performance Manager, Predictive Analytics, or Statistics Process Control, you don’t really need these guys.

They were all a part of the EPM suite and used to require a separate key to install. Now they are just clutter :wink:

If we’re not using Crystal Reports, would it be safe to stop the Crystal servers also? Or, are there dependencies I need to be aware of for running Deski and Webi reports? Doesn’t make sense that there would be dependencies for Deski and Webi reports to the Crystal severs - just want to make sure…

If you aren’t running Crystal Reports, you can bag all three Crystal Reports servers, the RAS, and the List of Values Job Server too.
