So we want to index our content so that the search feature retrieves results in a timely manner. However, it is taking a very, very long time to run and will occasionally even stop. Since we have a good amount of content already indexed on another environment, is it possible to simply copy the content from within the \PlatformSearchData folder from one server to the other?
I don’t believe this will work. I suspect that the environment S_IDs will come into play.

And be sure to delete content on all nodes if you are on a multinode system.
On errors you might to read this: 2912976 - PlatformSearch schedule failing because of error: ‘Platform Search is not available because BI platform cannot validate the search’s file paths.’
Rember to set back to Scheduled crawling afterwards.
I did this yesterday (42306 documents).
Well it is often failing also in my systems - and seems not very quick or reuseable - though there is a folder called backup ;-/
