Performance issue of Dashboards and Launchpad

Hello All,

I have certain dashboards (4.0 SP4) built on Bex queries using BICS deployed on the server. Whenever tried to login the launch pad it takes more time. I would like to know the things( w.r.t the servers) need to be considered to improve the performance of launchpad as well as dashboards and optimize the performance of servers because the tuning on excel and Bex queries have already been made.

A) Get a proper sizing done for your SAP BI 4.x platform, this includes necesseray hardware specs for your anticipated load and usage pattern, target architecture as well as optimal configuration, see here for starters: https://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-33126

B) Re-check the runtime of your SAP BEx queries in SAP BEx Analyzer for example using the same navigation/detail level as in your XC dashboard

C) Check your XC dashboard for performance, consider topics such as:

  • parallel triggering of queries (max parallel http requests)
  • smart triggering of queries
  • size of flashfile
  • too many, too complex operations/formulas within MS Excel part of XC
    etc.

Or hire an experienced consultant in the area of XC/BEx performance tuning ; )

you can use the fiddler tool to analyse what is going on from the start to finish. this tool has helped me numerous times.
