Pending vs Waiting Jobs

Hi BO Experts,

In XIR2, in CMC>Settings>Metrics:In Current Jobs:I see three state Running,Pending,Waiting.

I didn’t get this waiting one.what does it mean? No. of jobs that is waiting for available job server??

In my Current jobs:there are 0 Running Jobs,no need to wait.

Please advice

Waiting means CMS server puts a request to waiting state if it couldn’t find a service to handle requests. For example : Crystal Job Server, WebI Job Server etc.

What kind of reports do you run ? Crystal or WebI or OLAP ?

Hi Chief,

We have Only Webi and Deski Reports.And at the time we have 249 reports in waiting state our current running reports jobs count was 0.
So, if there was no reports running what else would have blocked the new requests.

Today i see we have 4 reports in running state and 242 in waiting state.

In XIR2 how can we check what are the reports that are in waiting state?

I’ve just had a look at our metrics, and could see that we had 33 ‘Waiting’ with no jobs running. We also had 525 Pending. After looking in instance manager I think that the metrics status releates to -

Waiting - Paused jobs that have passed their scheduled run time.
Pending - Recurring schedules and jobs that are showing as Pending in instance manager. (although the numbers don’t add up for us, haven’t gone through to see where they’re missing)
