I thought i was done with my current dashboards that i had built, but seems like its haunting me now. We are using Xcelsius Engage 2008 with SP3. We get an XML feed on daily basis and use this as source for the dashboard.
Using Connection Refresh button i am trying to refresh the dashboard. In Data Manager i add EXCEL XML Map connection and have the refresh options set as “Refresh On Load” and “Refresh Every” 30 Seconds (just to see if data would change). The output looks fine when i open it in HTML format, but the same dashboards fails to refresh in PDF format. Any idea whats going wrong?

PS: If i manually update the EXCEL file attached to the dashboard i can see the updated data in the PDF format as well. It’s just that when their is an updated vesion of the XML file the HTML format gets the latest data in the dashboard without manually updating the associated EXCEL file and PDF does not. What is wrong with this?
Could you be more precise as to what you mean by other sources. I am using Engage 2008 SP3. We dont have licenses for Live office or QAAWS or Flynet. This was to be a temporary fix till we get the licenses which we are scheduled by Feb, 2010. Till then we need a work around and hence decided with XML.
Now having said this. Is this a bug or is using XML as a data feed a “dead horse”. Please advice? Need some expert opinion on this.
regarding the “other sources” i meant by using other data source or other data connections. but as you’ve said, you don’t have QaaWs and Live Office. that would be harder to pinpoint the problem. and i think that it’s not a bug
by the way, have you tried tweaking the flash global settings?
