Oracle 8.1.7 to 8.1.7.4

Hi all,

Our current BO setup is WebI 2.6.3 / BO 5.1.3 with our repository databases at Oracle v8.1.7.0. Our DBA is looking to apply a security patch to the databases and has to upgrade Oracle to v8.1.7.4. Since our version of BO is so old, I can’t find any documentation on the BO website, so I can’t confirm if the Oracle upgrade is going to affect anything with our install.

Does anyone know if this upgrade will be OK? I’m 99.9% sure that it will be fine, but just need a confirmation before the DBA can start work.

It will be fine. BO doesn’t really care what’s at the backend. As long as your middleware works, don’t worry about it.

Just leave your Oracle client alone and you’ll be fine.
