Hi,

Is there any problem if i use ODBC Generic Datasource in my universe connection, also does it cause any problems while i create reports using webi.

Any help is appreciated,

You’ll have to make sure ODBC is set up / configured on your WebIntelligence server, won’t you?

I’d say, if you set up your middleware, and test it from full-client BusinessObjects on WebI, it should work from the WebI product, too.

I have had problems along these lines with v 6.1a using the Generic ODBC network layer in conjunction with SAS datasets. :slight_smile: During our install, we were only able to get full client processing properly when creating new reports. WEBi would run existing queries, but wouldn’t allow the creation of new queries. Submitted the problem to B.O tech, they were able to duplicate the problem, but wouldn’t provide support since our configuration over SAS datasets isn’t supported. Full client worked fine, so I’m wondering if it’s a specific bug in the B.O. WEBi software.
