ODBC 32bit

building reports crystal reports

Hi,
I have installed crystal report Server on windows 2008 R2.
crystal report is still 32 bit although BO 4.0 is 64 bit.
i have configured odbc32 bit in SysWow. and tested connection its working but when installed crystal report on same server to check why crystal report cann’t be refresh in crystal report server. report get hanged in both. i am guessing that its still pointing to System32 odbc. how to change it.

When the report is published to the BO, it still uses the 32 bit ODBC. The only thing that would use the 64-bit ODBC is the CMC (and auditor).

In BI4 Crystal Report 2011 Server components still connect to databases using 32bit middleware (the new Crystal Reports for Enterprise uses 64bit database connectivity for server components)
Since you have a problem with both the client and the server you will need to check that you have actually configured a 32bit DSN
You mention that you used the odbc32 in the SYSWOW folder but the 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the SYSWOW64 [C:\Windows\SysWoW64] folder
You can access it directly or from the Start menu under the SAP Business Objects menu where there is a link to 32bit ODBC administrator

Now I am getting this error:
The viewer could not process an event. Your request could not be
completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed.

Looks like this could be rights issue, please check the role level security at Universe level, or you may not have access to the database that report is trying to pull from, also please give more details where you trying to access the report from a hyperlink on which environment?

“Database Record Read when Previewing or refreshing” is the right solution but for unlimited is -1 in Crystal Report Server 2011.
The Report has calculation on more than 50000 records.
