OCIW32.dll Failure

Can anyone shed some light on an error message I get when trying to log into Business Objects this morning??

“Initialization of the dynamic link library CD:WINNT\System32\OCIW32.dll failed. The process is terminating abnormally”

Then I get the following message:

“Cannot Access Network layer”

I was running fine on Friday, and cannot get in this morning. I had Expert Advisor, a help desk call tracking system, installed late Friday and I am not sure if this install could disrupt Business Objects. Has anyone experienced this before?

Gail,

The problem is with your SQL*NET connection. First make sure that connections are correct and pointing to your BO repository in SQLNET easy config. If thats correct, make sure your autoexec.bat file is correct. I have found that extra spaces at the end of lines will cause errors. Also make sure the paths are correct for SQLNET. Something like this: SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\ORAWIN95\BIN. Hope this helps.

Ensure SQLNet is working prior to launching BusinessObjects. Suggest using SQLPlus.
