SQL server 2005 universe
Excel 2003

We have created a simple report and we are able to schedule and run it without any issue, however, we also have a requirement to have a “free text area” on the report where a user can add notes and they can be distributed to others within the report.

We have added a new table on the report that looks up to an Excel file that the users will maintain separately. This is held on the network, not locally.

When the report is refreshed in Deski it runs fine, any updated data either from the universe or the Excel spreadsheet is shown correctly.

When we attempt to schedule the report it fails with the following error
“Object failed to run due to an error while processing on the Job Server”

I have checked and the full unc path has been added rather than the mapped drive :slight_smile:

Anyone any ideas why this may be failing? Anyone any ideas of how we could have an alternative notes area on a report that would be updateable (not from the database)

Just a thought:
Will you get a more descriptive error message if you actually run the report in Infoview rather than scheduling it?
