I have a requirement I have been facing these days. I have 10 reports which are executed daily and sent to 20 users.
Sometimes, the load of the tables fail due to a various reasons and the reports are sent without information (they’re empty).
Has anyone know any idea to control it so the report is no generated when there is no data to show? I was thinking in Events, but still I can’t figure out a good approach to handle it.
Have your ETL process (a process that loads data into tables) create a dummy file at the end of a successful load. Then schedule the reports based on a file event.
Going a little further… is there a way to avoid sending the report when the query returns no results (and the load seemed to work fine) ? (using events, if necessary…?)
