not prompted for LCMBIAR save location

I’m trying to create a LCMBIAR file. But when setting up a new lcm promotion and choosing destination:LCMBIAR I’m not prompted with the (default) windows save/download to window to specify a location for the LCMBIAR.

If I continue tje promotion and run it, it runs succesfully but I cannot find the LCMBIAR file anywhere on my system…

anyone?

Should be OK. If you choose the Export button you should get the download dialogue box and then from there you can choose your directory. No?

check your pop up blockers? Hold your ctrl key when clicking the Export button?

rather to point out that the usability of sap based software seams rather …
well … :wah:

so far I discovered: I would say there is no destination box if you choose Output to BIAR File.

You may use export to get it rightaway now - then the save the downloaded file pop up should appear - sooner or later…
or you use scheduled - and there is a destianion to be configured -
at least this both works for me Bi40 sp4 patch 1 on a windows based implementation.

Hi.

Did this issue get resolved?

We are now experiencing the same issue.

Users are creating promotion jobs then clicking the save button. Previously they would receive a pop up for the file destination. Now nothing is happening.

yes solved it by logging on to a different pc with another IE version (and probably other security settings and also propbably a different pop-up blocker)

and then the pop-up does apear and I was able to save it.

OK. Thanks for replying.

I might have a problem there as our corporate standard is to use IE8 only and I doubt whether I’ll be able to get that changed.

Interesting to hear how you fixed it though.

Just to check. You were using the ‘save’ button not ‘export’ yes ?

That explains things a bit.

I can replicate the issue (and the solution) with the ‘export’ option and as you correctly say, using a different version of IE solves the issue.

The problem we have is that the users are saying that they use the save button and usually get a pop-up box which prompts for the file location.

My understanding is that this simply saves the job to the CMC (and export creates the file) but they are assuring me that this is not the case.

I am new to this role and have had no training/experience so unfortunately cannot confirm whether this is the case.
