Not Authorized...

Is there a way of reenabling user to open a document to which they primarly had no access? Sending to the user via the repository doesn’t work (which I regard as a bug, if I send a document to a user she should automatically have access to it, isn’t it?). Save with the all user option also doesn’t work because than I have to change the connection used from secure to shared.

Any solutions to this?

Hans,

There are two ways in which you (as a BO user) get access to a document. 1. The creator of the document sents it to the repository and makes its available to (one of the) groups you belong to. (Which he can only do if he is a member of the group and has the right to export documents). 2. A supervisor links the document to you or (one of the) groups you belong to.

Remember that having access to the document does not imply that you have access to the universe (so are able to refresh, for instance) as well. That comes separately. The same applies for the document domain the report resides in.

I don’t agree that sending a document to a user should authorize him/her, because you may not belong to the same group as the user you sent it to and are therefore not authorized to authorize him/her in the first place.

I hope this helps you understand,
