Hi,

What kind of error messages are you getting?
The problem might be firewall-related. Check it with your network team.

Check wether or not your CORBA service is up and running, this should be in one Adaptive Processing Server.

CORBA service is responsible for web application connection.

Hi all,

I am getting the error message: There is No Central Management Server is Running

Hi,

Get your BOBJ administrator to resolve this problem. Apparently, the Central Management Server, which is the core of the BOBJ server is not running.

Hi,

CMS server is up and running fine as I am able to access infoview perfectly. Its just only I am not able to access the server using client tools on my system.
I think there is some configuration required on my machine in order to connect External BO server through my machine clients tool.
I am looking for that configuration only,

One probable reason what I could thought of is that I dont have any database driver confiured on my machine in order to connect the BO CMS database. That could be one reason. The CMS Database has been setup on MYSQL database on BO server only
Can some body confirm me, if the default user name and password that remains pre-configured for this database.

This isn’t required.
Either its a firewall issue, as Marek suggested, or you are entering incorrect system / server name details.
How are you specifying the server name when you try to connect? Are you including the port number?

ServerName:6400

This assumes that your CMS is running with the default port, out of the box, 6400. If you have a cluster, the format is:

@ClusterName

It should be noted that the first time you log in to the cluster, you will need to actually use a specific server name, server:port, format. Business Objects then sets a registry setting that includes the cluster name and the list of CMS servers in the cluster. The cluster name can then be resolved in the future, by using @ClusterName.

This error can actually occur when the authentication is incorrect. Be sure that you are using the correct auth type (Enterprise, LDAP, etc) for the user/pwd you are entering. If the password is wrong, it can throw the No CMS is Running error.

Hi Marek,

There is no cluster configured in our BO env.
The port we are using for CMS is 6400 only (This is the port no. which appears while we login to CMC Application).
I am using :6400 to connect

User Credential, I am using is correct as I am able to login to both Infoview and CMC Web application.

Also through my client machine I am able to telnet BO server at 6400 Port, thus ruling out the firewall issue.

Please let me know,if is there any other config required

Thanks,

I don’t think the firewall issue is ruled out yet - the CMS communicates on two ports, Name Server and Request. Name Server Port is 6400 by default, but the request port is dynamic unless you assign it specifically. So you may want to check on the firewall rules you have in place.

Hey hi, Were you able to resolve the issue?

I have the same issue…
Im on BI4.1 SP1…I can login to client tools when Im on the server…but when Im on the client machine, I cannot login.

I can login to InfoView and CMC though…I just checked all our ports are open from 6400 to 6410 and I can do telnet from my client machine and it is successfull. I even added the IP address and hostname on my local machine’s host file… but still cannot access the server via the client tools…
any other places to configure?

Thanks,

Wondering if it is an AntiVirus issue, just for giggles: disable AntiVirus completely just to test the client tool connection to server.
Do not forget to turn it on again asap : 9

You don’t mention the actual error.
You could look at this, also:-
