I have just had a new PC and had business objects installed. All appears to be fine and I can connect to all the required universes and I get current data. However, I only get data if i DONT specify a date range in the conditions of the query. So a snapshot of data i.e. patients currently on a ward is fine.
If I try and specify a date range i.e. referrals between this date and that date, I get the error no data to fetch.
It seems to be a bit of a mystery. All my date settings are the same throughout the whole computer (UK English) so it cant be that.
Out IT Department seem to think its something to do with Windows 7 connection to Oracle but I’m not convinced. Surely if that was the case I wouldn’t get any data no matter what the conditions of the query were.
Does anyone have any ideas or have come across this before?
What tool are you using to connect to your universes, Webi, Deski or?
Usually this happens due to the wrong date format being fired at the database. In Business Objects PRM files control the INPUT_DATE_FORMAT.
The file you are looking for is the oracle.prm.
Where you change this depends on the tool being used, obviously if it is Webi you have to change on the BO server, if it is Deski you have to change the workstation.
When your data provider(s) return no data, the document looks pretty ugly. It will typically show column headers without any content, zero totals, and some formulas may even display embarrassing error messages.
