New to publication

My Requirement was given below;

Need to schedule a report:

  1. The report should be sent via email to a set of users, but only their respective data should be displayed. lets say if i have 4 users the user1 shouldn’t see other three users data.
  2. The report output format is Excel.
  3. Hence the report contains nearly 30,000 records we need compress the out put file.

Please let me know if you have any workaround for this issue. I’m new to this explain in details from where i can start like setting up new publication for that report.

What version are you using? Assuming you aren’t back on v5 or v6 then the manuals on help.sap.com actually make setting up a publication pretty straightforward.

I’m using BOXI 3.1 SP2 i know publication is straight forward but how can i filter the data in source documents so that only relevant data is displayed for publication recipients.

Have you read the Publication manual? That’s core functionality – there’s a good bit of information on that subject in there.
