I’m writing a tool to make it easier to compare two universes and highlight differences. I have tested it with XI R2 universes, but I don’t have XI R3. To make sure the tool is fully compatible with XI R3, I need a variety of universes that were created from scratch with XI R3. Universes that were created with an earlier XI and edited with XI R3 won’t do.
If you’re willing to share an XI R3 universe, please contact me. In return, I’ll tell you more about this tool and do my best to make it work with the XI features your universe uses.
How complex do they need to be? I can create some simple universes in XI 3 and post them for you. I can give you versions with changes as well, something simple that includes a new object, edited object, deleted object, stuff like that. Is that enough for you to work with?
Simple universes would be fine. The scenarios you described would be very helpful. I have done some testing with deleted objects to make sure the tool doesn’t fail when it finds vestigial references to deleted objects in SELECT and WHERE expressions. I’d like to see if Designer R3 handles them any differently.
It would help if you fill in a description for those objects that allow it. Any text that will help me identify the class or object would be fine.
