Need to Version,SP & FP

Hi All,

I need to know on what version, Sp, & FP we are on. By seeing the setting in CMC it say 14.0.3. I assuming it as SP 2.

But when I check with my Administrator they say it as SP4.
I am confused does the setting show the proper version,sp & FP ???
Can some suggest me by seeing the attachment.

First some terminology:

SP = Support Package
FP = Fix pack. These don’t apply to BI4, these only exist in XI 3.1
Patch = These replaced FP in BI4. They ship roughly every 2 weeks for each active SP line.
Patches = This is the term I’ll use to describe a update installer, it could be a Patch or a SP.

Patches to BI4 only ship content that need to be updated because of a fix. The version numbers in the CMC only get updated when that piece of the CMC needs to be updated because of a fix. So, you can’t depend on that number to tell you the current level of BI4 on your system (or cluster).

To do that you need to look at the list of patches installed in the Add/Remove Programs (or Features and Programs) list in windows. On unix you can use the addOrRemoveProducts.pl script.

In this case, you should trust your administrator.

You are on SAP BI BusinessObjects 4.0 FP3 and NO PATCHES
FP3 = FeaturePack 3, the predecessor to SP4
Patches ship approx every 3-4 weeks.

You should ASAP go to either SP4 with Patch 9 or SP5 with Patch 3.

Patch 10 is available now.

I just love how SAP sorts their patches in the list for downloads… alphabatically… :-1: Just bad and non-intuitive, see e.g.:
Patch 1
Patch 10
Patch 2
Patch 3
…

The most recent patch yould be at the top of the list IMHO :!:

They should have used a custom sort :wink:
