This is not accurate. Yes, the Universe remains (and will most likely replace the CR Business View), but so does WebIntelligence (CR’s ad-hoc tool was dropped), as does InfoView (BO’s portal tool), and all of the other legacy BO components like Performance Manager, etc. BO bought CR for two reasons: 1) a huge increase in its customer base that they can now sell a decent ad-hoc tool to as CR didn’t have one; and 2) CR’s superior “server” (or service) -based back-end. I am interested in hearing other people’s thoughts on advantages/disadvantages to using Crystal Reports XI and WebIntelligence XI? From a general point of view, I know that Crystal Reports is much more IT-centric (but really difficult to use for ad-hoc) and WebI is much more end-user centric (but not great for creating pixel-perfect reports). Hi All, New guy on the Block, 15 + years working with Cognos, converting to BOB… I hear in general that Crystal has better formatting Capiblities then WEBI, but, I do not know any specifics.
