When I open a report and go into the query panel I get the message:

I have a general idea that this is something to do with the universe
having
changed, but when I look at the universe the objects I see in the report
lay
out and EXPECT to see in the query panel ARE in the universe.
As far as I know Business Objects references Objects internally with
numbers, so if you create a report using certain objects, then this report
references to the objects by this number - if you now in designer rename
this object, it is renamed in the report as well. BUT if you delete the
Object in the Designer and reinsert it with the same name (the users won’t
realise that by just looking at the query panel) then the object has a
different reference number and so Business Objects thinks the object has
been deleted and comes up with an error message.
Hope this helps

If I understand the question open up the data manager dialog box (Data View)
w/in the reporter module and then click on the definition tab. You can
then rename the query something a little more intuitive to the end-user
rather than the default Query1 or Query2.
