Multi Line Chart from universe query

Hello.

I’m just starting to get to grips with Dashboards 4.1. I need to create a line chart the data is sales value $ by region, by date, I want sales $ value up the left hand side of the chart, date across the bottom and then a seperate coloured line for each region. My data source is query results from a universe.

I’ve had a play around / googled / watch the tuturials but have not been able to get it to work in that I cannot get seperate lines per region, it just sums them up and along the bottom its a mess of date and region name. I noticed that for universe query results some of the options for properties under Data like ‘range’ are not enabled, I have to click the ‘Series’ to be able to add data from the query.

Should I be able to create a multi line chart like I want from a universe query, if so any idea what I’m doing wrong ?

regards nanu nanu

What does your data look like? You should end up with a table that has the regions as row headers and the dates as column headers, with sales $ in each cell.

Hi its just a table it does not look like how you detail it should with date across the top, I thought this may be the issue it looks l need the data as a crosstab then. Is there anyway using a query like this to get Dasboards to see it as a crosstab ? Or is my only real option to use a webservice were I have already down the cross tab in a Webi report ?

Thanks
