In XI 3.1, I have a situation where I am trying to build a compound metric. For example:
A/B
Where metric A is in one context and metric B is in a seperate context.
When trying to use the metric on a report I get an error that says: "The query cannot run, because it contains incompatible objects. See your Business Objects Administrator. (Error: WIS00008)
Anyone have any suggestions for an approach to resolve this?
The problem is that we hundreds of this type of metric, and 1000’s of reports, and we don’t want to introduce variability into how the users define these things on their report. Any other possible approach to this issue then building it as a variable on each report?
Hum, I long time I didn’t get into this kind of problematic or I m on the wrong topic
So whithout giving any suggestion/solution… Should we alert on the behaviour of the coupound metrics and how the database aggregate the data and THEN how the report aggregate/manipulate the objects and the variables.
To be very careful with the AVERAGES if you want to Weight them etc.
Some times even no aggregation at the Universe level is mandatory.
