Moving reports and universes to another repository

I received step by step instructions from Business Objects on how to move reports and universes from one repository to another but I’m stuck on one of the steps. After importing all the universes (we’re also using core and derived universes), changing the connections to shared, including the core universe, and then saving for all users the next step is to open an existing report and point it to the changed local universe. However when I attempt to do this Business Objects displays a message telling me the universe I’m trying to import is different from the local universe and only gives me an option to overwrite the local universe or cancel. Is that message telling me it’s already pointing to the local universe and I can basically skip this step? I’m attempting to point the report to the local universe by going under the “Tools” - “View” - clicking on the elipses in the definition tab. Is that the correct way to do it?

Thanks in advance for any help…

Kent,

Make sure that you have logged on using General Supervisor Id to run reports on locally
saved universes.

Thanks for you response… Yep I’m logged in as General Supervisor. I don’t know if this makes any difference or not but none of the reports that I need to migrate are stored in the repository, the users simply stored them on their local drives. Also, there was one prior step in the migration document that I’m not sure whether or not I’m doing it correctly, and that was changing the connection type to shared instead of secured. I wasn’t able to change the type because it was “grayed out” so I created a new shared connection.
