More Scheduling Customer Influence Ideas

I just submitted two Customer Influence ideas related to scheduling and universe query limits.

Check them out and vote for them if you believe they would be useful. SAP login required.

Scheduled Report Timeout Should Be Reflected in the Status

Reflect Scheduled Report Result Size Limit in the Status

Thanks,

Noel

We have not used these scheduling options, but this very well may be the way to address the use case in each of these ideas I submitted…

These Delivery Rules are handy for when a report doesn’t contain any data. You can use it to prevent sending an email with an empty report. I have a couple of places where I use it for this.

I am thinking on how to differentiate between legitimately no data or no data due to a timeout. It would seem I cannot.

What I did not consider or realize is that a time out could very well be flagged as “partial”. I did some testing and that seems to be the case. Therefore, I think the first of the Delivery Rules options will work for me.

That will negate the need for my ideas. I am not going to delete the two ideas I submitted, but I will put a comment on them for other to see.

I must say this strikes me as a bit of a hack both in how it is implemented in the interface and how we subsequently need to configure the schedule rather than an seamlessly integrated solution. However, sometimes that is the best you can do. I’ll take it.
