Missing Favorites and Inbox for BOXI 4 User?

I created a new user in my BO 4 test environment and for some reason the Favorites folder and the inbox are missing in the BI Launch Pad. What permissions control this? Is it an Applications issue or something within the Access Level? I know it’s something probably fairly simple to resolve but I am just not seeing it. :hb:

check whether this user is a member of any group or not…
By default it should be in “everyone” group…

If it is there then check the rights on that principal in the access levels…

I am having the same problem with BO4 SP5 patch 1. They have the personal folder in CMC but when you go in to bi lauchpad and my documents there is only the alerts folders. Did someone find a solution?

We had a similar problem when we upgraded from 3.1 to 4.0 - existing users could see their personal folder, users created in the 4.0 environment could not see their personal folders. After a long and convoluted suggestion from SAP, here is what we did to fix it:
CMC > Personal Folders > Right Click Personal Folders > Select Properties > Select User Security > Select Everyone > Click Assign Security > Change the Access Level assigned to “Full Control (Owner)”

We logged in as a few individual users from different groups - everyone could only see their Personal Folder.

Not saying it will fix your issue, but it worked for us.

Thanks Scott, That has fixed it on an individual basis but I’m guessing there isn’t a fix so new users get there personal folders.

After making that change in our 4.1 SP5 environment , any new users created automatically triggered the creation of their Personal Folder, and each user could see/save to/etc only their Personal Folder.

Thank you, Scott. Applying your fix to the Personal Folders securities worked! Much appreciated!

Thanks for the solution! It worked for us well better than going crazy applying granular permissions.

Thanks for this - I stumbled on this reply after going mad for an hour or so that none of my users could save reports!
