Migration users from BOXI R2 (Windows AD) to BOXI 3.1 (LDAP)

Hi,
I have a BOXI 3.1 installed on a Red Hat 5.3

I’m planning a migration from a BOXI R2 (Window) to BOXI 3.1 (Linux).

From what I’ve seen in the documentation…

I’m thinking to use LDAP authentication as I see in https://bobj-board.org/t/100431 but I have a question:

How I can migrate Windows AD users to users with LDAP authentication?

In the tests I’ve done so far, without configuring LDAP, users with Windows AD alias cause a warning in the migration tool (and obviously not migrated)

Is there a way for users who are Windows AD (BOXI R2) will be LDAP users in BOXI 3.1?

Is there any way to use migration through text files with the import wizard to make this conversion?

Are there any other tool?

Thank you very much

Switching from AD to LDAP will create new aliases for users. So, the existing Inbox and Personal documents will be lost.

Try creating Enterprise alias for all existing AD users. And then import them.

But you need to link these Enterprise aliases (with LDAP users) in the XI 3.1 as well. :+1:

Is there any way to migrate (in origin) AD users to LDAP user?

In this way I could use the wizard and avoid the trouble (in this scenario both environments would be equal related with authentication)

Are there any tools?

As per my knowledge - No.
However, I am thinking you can do it in reverse way as well. On XI R2, configure the LDAP authentication and use BIAR to then migrate to XI 3.1. 8)

Import Wizard is the only tool.

Despite the time that has happened … thank you very much!

I’m trying to do something like that using csv files, but I can’t fix nothing.

Your solution (create LDAP at origin) seems to best way

Best regards.

Hey…Thanks for getting back.

In the meantime, I have other answer to your question -

In BI 4.0, they are launching Upgrade Manager (instead of Import Wizard) so it might (or might not  ) have additional features.
