migration of the B.O.repository from DB2 to oracle....

I want to migrate our repository from db2 to oracle. We have 50 universes and 600 reports… We are using B.O. 5.1.5
I don’t want to do it not automated!
I’m looking for someone who has done this before, I am curious what experiences you had.
How you’ve done it, what the pros and cons where.
Please let me know!

i don’t know if it exists tools to migrate db2 database to oracle. in other case, you would have to create an empty repository on oracle and importe users, connexions, reports and univ from old repository to new one.

  1. Export users and groups with the “export”
  2. save for all users univers from db2 repo
  3. recreate connexions in oracle repo
  4. exports univers to new repo

do the same thing with reports
etc.

I think you will found in Bo docs if you have ocs access or on BOB threads abouts using keywords “migration” or “migrating” explaining in details how to proceed

Thank you for your answer, but I really want to do it automated: 600 !! reports…
I heared something about using visual basic which could help with the migration of our repository from db2 to oracle.

I’m really looking forward to hear from someone who has done this before, I am curious what experiences you had.
