Hi,
I need to migrate a set of reports (.rpt) files from CR 7 and CR XI to CR 2008.Have gone through many forums and find out that for CR 7 to CR 2008 report migration, we need to completely re-build the reports from scratch.And for CR XI to CR 2008 report migration, we need to open the XI reports with CR 2008 designer and save them.
Are the above information correct ? Please suggest if their are any alternative and better ways.
I am also looking information:
a) What are the limitations of migrating reports from CR XI to CR 2008. Whether everything keeps intact in CR 2008 reports.I mean to say, look and feel, data, formula,queries etc.
b) What are the reason to redevelop the CR 7 reports in CR 2008 from scratch.Can anyone please highlight the issues and limitations.
c) Can anyone share me the architecture of CR 7, CR XI and CR 2008.Are all of them supports Java and .Net framework?
