Migration of all exisitng Crystal Reports & Server Setup

All,

I am looking for some assistance migrating our existing platform from old to new.

We are currently using BusinessObjects Enterprise Professional (R1). We have almost 2,000 scheduled Crystal Reports on this server, taking their data from a dedicated SQL server.

We are moving over to BusinessObjects Edge Series 3.1 which is on a new server, looking at a new dedicated SQL server.

The problem, or queries that I have are:

  1. How do we migrate the existing CMC content (Users, Security and Crystal Reports) from the old setup to the new?

  2. (My biggest area of confusion) All of our crystal reports look directly at the SQL database (i.e. no Universe), they therefore have the database logon parameters stored against each report. As the data source for the reports is going to change to our new server, how do we change the data source on all of these reports ? Is there a seperate tool that would allow us to do this ?

Any help at all would be grately appreciated.

Have a look at this post. You’ll have to check with SAP/BO to verify that the approach is valid.
