migration from one repository to another

Hello listers,

I have BO 4.1.5.
BO documents were built on universes against Oracle 7.3 database and stored in DB2 repository.
The same universes have now been migrated to an Oracle repository ( only the repository and domains have changed, the universe is still against the same Oracle database ).

To migrate the earlier ( DB2 repository resident ) documents, what I do is, (a) Open the document when connected to Oracles repository. (b) Point to the same universe ( named ‘Revenue’ from ‘Test’ domain ) of DB2, into Oracles
repository ( to ‘Revenue’ from ‘Production’ domain ). © Apply the templates from DB2 for each report in this document, reapply the DataProvider
links, the filters etc. ( since the formatting goes away ).

This has to be done for each document ( 200 in all ).

Is there a faster way of achieving this ? Please let me know.

Thankyou very much.

Unni,

You are using linked universes right? I think that is the only way.

Or may be you could try this. How did you construct the repository in Oracle? Did you import all the universes from db2, then cconnected to oracle repository and exported them to oracle repository? Instead can you import the data from db2 repository tables and export the data to oracle. What I mean is, try to retain the Domain ID andd Universe ID in oracle repository. Then the documents might work with-out the need for migration. I haven’t done this. You could give a try.
