I’ve always questioned the instance of selling a product based on comparisons, regardless of the validity of the specifics, but it does give one a starting point for further discussions or product comparisons.
I have always held MicroStrategy in high regard and just wonder what marketing thinking went into publishing this? I do agree with most of the statements re BO (lol) but have no valid converse proof of the alternative.
So yes, if I was a first time buyer or disgruntled with BO, it would give me some valid discussion points for the respective vendors, but vendor relationships are a strange arena and emerging customers are looking more and more towards more cost effective platforms and specific analytical modules.
Microsoft is certainly making major inroads where Open Source would have captilised and the Big guys are all snapping up or being snapped up by vendors that extend the competition beyond ‘Reporting’.
Financials is all the talk at the moment so yeah, let the vendors lose at one another - preferably in a roman arena with live streaming web cams
