Microsoft word crashes SEEM to be releated to Live Office

Ok, if this problem exists for any other person, I sure don’t know what words to put in my query to find it!

When I’m on SharePoint and I click on a Word Document to open it, about 50% of the time it crashes Word. Looked in the event log and here’s what was there.

This happened on both a Win XP machine and on my new Windows 7 machine. I’ve confirmed that it does not happen on a Windows 7 machine without Live Office installed. It ONLY happens if I’m pulling something off SharePoint. I read a few posts that says that SAP doesn’t support Office 2007 SP2, but according to my IT department, I can’t downgrade.

I had this problem with Office Word 2010 on Windows 7.
I was able to stop the crashing by doing the following:

Find the enable_addins.exe file located:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Live Office 12.0
Select Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as administrator

For some reason, running as admin stopped Word from crashing.

When you open a word said that the file is damaged. in this case you may use: text recovery for ms word.
Jek.

I see the same in Windows XP…any ideas in resolving this in XP.
I do not see ‘run as administrator’ in the compatibility tab.

Thanks in advance,
Esther
