Metadata Integrators

My company is new to SAP BI platform and purchased an Edge edition. We currently installed SAP BIP, DS and Explorer. When we are installing Information Steward, we receive following message which blocks us from installing any of the Metadata Integrators (they are grayed out and cannot be selected):

“The server that is required to deploy the integrator component is not enabled by the SAP Business Intelligence platform key in the system. If you continue, the integrator component will not be installed.”

SAP reps are saying that we should have a full IS install as part of the license key provided, but SAP Support says we need to get a full license key.

Can someone help us? What is the difference in licenses? What is not available in Edge edition comparing to Enterprise? Thank you in advance.

I think the information that you have from Support is correct. We have an Enterprise license for BI4.1 and have to have a separate license for Information Steward.

You should have an Account Executive (not sure if this would be the same person as the SAP rep you are referring to or not). You should contact them and have them work it out for you. If they are telling you that you should be able to install Information Steward, you should make them help you accomplish that.
