Hi , I get the following error while trying to install metadata integrator 11.7 in my environment. The error indicates
“unable to register program object”.
Any suggestions?

did you install Metadata Integrator after installing BOE ?
what is the version BOE XI R2 or XI R3 ?
Metadata Integrator depends on BOE SDK, if you install Metadata Integrator after installing BOE then during install it detects the SDK location and updates the path in the .cmd files, else the path and some of the binaries will be of default version BOE XI R1

I am using BOE 12.1 and tried to re install DI since BOE is pre installed. But no luck this time

the error message is printing a generic message, not the actual error encountered, I think I fixed this error message in later FP, any way since its BOE 12.1, check if the BOE login that you are using has permission to create Folder and add objects to that folder in BOE
also, go to %LINK_DIR%\ext\cmsCollector and open the cmsConfig.cmd file in notepad and check the value of the following variable if its pointing to correct location
CE_JARS_DIR=C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BOXIR3\common\4.0/java/lib
since connection test is OK, the path of SDK is correct
try following
login to CMC using the same login that you use in DI, try creating the same folder that you are using in DI Metadata Integrator, and try addding a .bat file to that folder and see if its successful
