Merging objects in a report

Hello

We’ve just got BOXI at work. I’ve been on a one day course as a Report Writer … wish it had been 3 months!

So I’m basically a beginner and new to the forum.

The reports we need are quite basic and are basically lists of customers and staff displaying various information. I have the hang of creating basic reports/lists, but as expected things are evolving and getting more complicated.

My first question is how do I merge the results from 2 seperate objects to display in one column?

I have used: =[City]+[Country] but this produces a rather weird looking LondonEngland. I’d like to get London England, a nice gap seperating each word.

Any advise how to achieve this will be appreciated

TIA … Mick

Hi Mick,

Welcome to B  B!

You can look at the concatenate function, or you could try:-

=[City]+" "+[Country]

Thanks Mak … that worked a treat and simple enough for me to remember

Many thanks

No problem.

Mick, depending on what version you are on, there are some useful guides on the SAP site.

http://help.sap.com/businessObject/product_guides/

These will assist in defining formulae e.t.c., as you are beginning to recognise, the course is only the start of all this…
