Merging data from 2 Cross Tabs with common Dimension

Hi,

  1. I have 2 cross tabs as in attached excel. I need to merge the two cross tab reports based on the common Dimension column such that drilling can be done on the dimension and it is effective on both the Cross Tabs (Measure1, Measure2 and Measure3).

  2. Filter1 defined in the Universe which has a Prompt on “Month Name”. Based on the Prompt value, it returns the Month, Month-1 and Month-2. (Past 3 Months including Selected Month)

  3. Filter2 defined in the Universe which has a Prompt on “Month Name”. Based on the Prompt value, it returns the Month

  4. The 1st CrossTab has
    Dimension+ Measure1+Measure2
    displayed for 3 months by using the Filter as defined above.(Month,Month-1,Month-2)

  5. The CrossTab 2 has
    Dimension+Measure3 only for 1 month selected by the user(Month)

Qs. How do we merge Cross Tab 2 with Cross Tab 1?

merge the dimension in 2 queries.Create and place month object for 1st query and 2nd query.If it leads incompatability make the months as detials objects and made them as associated with common dimension

Hi Buggi

THanks for your response, I tried setting the Preferences to Synchronize Dimensions in the report automaticallly and it is drilling in sync for both crosstabs now.

But the issue I am facing is in merging the 2 crosstabs now, as I need to hide the colunms in the second crosstab and fix it to appear as 1 table with the first crosstab.

Appreciate any suggestions in this regard
