Median Function

I`m having trouble with the median function in Business Objects. I have searched for median on the forum and there are similar problems to mine ie getting a sum of the values instead of the median but on these posts there are no solutions. Can anyone help?

I am trying to find the median of a column called count of activity ID when its grouped by another column URN.

A sample of the data:

URN Count of activity id
1, 2
1, 3
1, 4
2, 9
2, 11
2, 13

when I group these and use the median function I should get

URN Median of activity id
1, 3
2, 11

but instead I get

URN Median of activity id
1, 9
2, 33

any ideas?

This may be coz the measure is defined with an Aggregate function “Sum” in the designer. Try changing the default aggregate function to “None” and run the report again.

This may resolve the problem.

Already tried setting the measure with aggregate function “none” and do get the same result. any other ideas?

Kashif’s replie seems to be accurate… What’s the SQL BO is generating?

I came across the same issue. The Median function sums the values instead of finding the median. There seems to be no resolution this error.
