i recently installed the publisher 6.5 software. i was able to configure the mail server plug in and collect email addresses but when i got to testing the connection to the mail server to send emails i get an error: Method ‘~’ of object ‘~’ failed. i could’n’t see any posts about this here or on techsupport but after looking on the web it seems to suggest a problem with the mdac version. i have mdac 2.8rtm on both the bo server and recipient manager machines. the par document suggests i have compatable software. has anyone here come across this issue?

One thing that is worth doing is to download Microsoft’s MDAC tester tool. Its a tiny little .exe which you point at your MDAC configuration and it tells you what version it is and whether everything is correctly installed. I’m sure this won’t be the problem, but by doing it you can be confident that your MDAC is 100% okay.

tried the smtp plug in instead of the domino one and that worked ok. :smiley:
