I’m on XI 3.1 SP2.
As a test we created a report with 20 data providers. Although I would be hard pressed to find a situation to use 20 dps, I was able to do it.

It would help to put your question into context… why are you asking this? Why is it important in your scenario to know this?

Even I was asked the same question during one of the interview. I have used more than 20DP in one of my report but I am not sure about upper limit of no. of DP’s

I heard Michael Welter talked about it in his Web-I Tips and Tricks for GBN. He said it is 100.

It also depends on your memory settings and how complex each DP is. If they are simple select statements then the 100 sounds right but if they are complex using derived tables, complex filters etc…then I have seen webi crash on just a couple of them. The more memory you allocat in the Java Console Options the more DP you can have, in theory.

It is more important to understand how to work with multiple data providers than to know the exact number / restriction. Here’s how I would answer that question:
So in this way I am … politely … responding that I don’t think this particular question makes sense (it doesn’t) and also taking advantage of the opportunity to share a success story from my prior experiences.
