Ok, I am done. BO must be serious when they say the Master Install is Shared - I cant find any way to make true stand alone set ups…
My master install will copy an updated bomain key, but it will not stop referencing the installation drive (eg, the CD or the Network drive) for the shared directory…
If you change this to the local drive during the install, it works, but I just want to give this out and say ‘run it’…worse yet, if they don’t change it, it points to my install set. Found that out when my updates started bringing down the designers in the group.
I have tried all the params I can find in the setup files, but I am about out of patience… ideas?

Brent,
Do the following :
from the CD install as a ‘Master Setup’ on your fileserver 2) at the end of the installation, when the install dialog is still open, click the ‘Modify’ button under the list of installed modules 3) set the location for the 4 files to ‘Local’ and check the path of the file locations as well. 4) exit the install.
The above should ensure that all the subsequent stand-alone installs from the Master are setup with only ‘local’ references.
You can do the above through modifying the security.key file as well but the above is easier.

Thanks, jonathan… what I did was punt. If you change the security.key file to point to all local refs, it works ok - my complaint really is just the the folder showing up for the shared STILL shows up, and it still shows up pointing to the drive of the installation set.
Its more a cleanup / confusion (to the recipients) issue - thanks for the reply, I still think this list is the best source for support there is.
