I had made a dynamic LOV in a crystal report XI that is working just fine on my desktop.
But when I try to put it in BOE I get a message error that says “invalid object”
Can I make it work without businessView?

When you publish your report, you need to make sure to check the “Enable Repository Refresh” at the bottom of the dialog. This will set up the LOV in the repository.
Now you need to configure the LOV:
- Open the Business View Manager application.
- Look for a set of objects that have the same name as your prompt with differen two or three letter endings.
- Edit the one that ends in “_DF”. This is the one that connects to the database (Data Foundation). You need to include information about how to log in to the databse.
- Schedule the LOV - this will run the LOV on a regular schedule through the List of Values server. This way the data for your LOV is cached and doesn’t have to be pulled from the database every time you need to shedule a report.
I think there may have been one other step as well, but I don’t remember it off the top of my head and I don’t have access to the Business View Manager at the client site where I’m working right now.
