Losing Precision when Importing from Excel

I can import excel files to bods but the problem I am getting is that I’m losing precision from the excel file as it is formatted to type “Number” and so I appear to be losing precision. I was wondering if its possible to bring the data from Excel into bods with precision, without having to change the formatting on the excel file.
