I suddenly get this message when I try to login in InfoView:
“Logon denied: You do not have the right to logon to the application”.
Most users are getting this error message, except for the users in the group called “Functioneel beheer”.
I examined the differences in application rights between the group “Functioneel beheer” and the other groups having no access to Infoview. I could not discover any differences.
It’s unlikely it has to do with expired licenses, since some users are able to use Infoview.
Anyway, do have any idea what could be wrong?? I hope so, because right now I’m banging my head against the wall because of this!
Your issue has to be security for the InfoView application group, so you are on the right track. Try to create a new user and don’t make it a member of any groups. Try to log in and see if that works. If it doesn’t then make it a member of the group “Functioneel beheer” and see if that works. If that works, then there should be a difference between the “Functioneel beheer” group and “Everyone” group.
Since BOE has a tree structure security system it is basically a matter of finding where the culprit is hiding. Hope you figure this out…
Well, I found out the cause of this problem. It wasn’t that obvious! It turned out I accidentally removed the right “View Objects that the user owns”. This right was assigned at toplevel to all users. If this right isn’t assigned, an object like Infoview cannot be “viewed”
