I know of no way to do what you are suggesting, unless a script can be written using ReportScript that would capture variable definitions and write them to a text file. I have not personally done this, though.

This is not an automated approach but what you can do is copy the syntax from the calculated report variable. Create a new report variable, paste the syntax in and remove the = from the formula. Update the object as a dimension. You will then have the formula for that object. This is cumbersome but it works…
