I have been able to successfully install both Xcelsius and LiveOffice on Office 2010, I need help with 64Bit Installation. Due to compatibility issues modification of the xcelsius.msi & liveoffice.msi is needed. The link below provides very detailed instructions:
I found success when installing from the xcelsius.msi & liveoffice.msi files.
After installation of xcelsius, find the xcelsius.exe file located:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Xcelsius
Select Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as administrator
By running as administrator, xcelcuis can populate Excel 2010 32bit & 64bit.
As for LiveOffice. I have yet to find a solution for a 64bit version.
With an Office 2010 32bit, Installation through the .msi produced functional powerpoint & excel add-ins. Upon opening outlook, I was prompted to disable a file size option. Word on the other hand crashed. I tried the same trick as above to resolve my issue with Word(For a short time).
Find the enable_addins.exe file located:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Live Office 12.0
Select Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as administrator
I also checked to Run in Compatibility Mode: Windows Vista
I tried the same option on a 64bit machine without success. When looking at the Add-Ins, the LiveOffice location is not present. Any further suggestions of how to proceed?
I would like to run this with Office 2010 64bit because I need to roll this out to 30 users, most of whom have 2010 64bit. Any and All information would be helpful.
I don’t have an answer for your question about 64 bit Office 2010, but I was hoping you could answer a question for me. We recently upgraded to Office 2010 (and Xcelsius 2008) and I no longer have Live Office available. I tried to used your directions for installing it, but I don’t have the enable_addins.exe. Do you have any thoughts on how I could install Live Office some other way or where I could get the enable_addins.exe. I’ve tried to work with my IT department, but no one there seems to know what Live Office is at all.
Did you upgrade your office or did you get a clean new installation of your office… afaik; LO is still not supported and not working with office 2010 until xir3 Sp4 - which is oficially still planed for end of Q2 2011… so the only workaround I know if you upgraded an office version with LO to MS Office 2010 this still should be working - even not supported…

Just so you know: Live Office with Fix Pack 3.4 runs fine on Office 2010.
Still have to figure out a way to get it working on a 64bit Win7 machine though. It worked fine after install, but since today, Excel and Word suddenly start throwing an addin error and LO crashes…
For some strange reason it works fine for quite some time, then all of a sudden it stops working (link with LiveOffice is lost).
I managed to get it running again by deactivating and manually activating it again in the Office application. The link with the LO objects is automatically re-established so there is no re-work.
But after activating the add-in, Excel or Word throws an error and crashes. After restart of the application it asks if the addin needs to be deactivated because of “a problem”. I select No and everything runs fine again for quite some time.
I never had a change to fully examine this since my current laptop is 32bit (the problem occured on another user’s laptop).
But I just ordered a new 64bit laptop for myself. That will give me the opportunity to dig a little deeper. If I happen to find a good solution, I will post it here.
I am having problems trying to get both Xcelsius 2008 SP4 and Live Office SP5 working on a 64 bit server with 64 bit Office 2010 on it.
I can use the msi editing trick to get all of the software installed (had to install LO SP3 first then add SP5 to it) but when I come to use them there are two issues.
First LO does not work in Excel - the path to the add-in is not populated and I cannot get it to work either by trying to add or remove it manually or by using the ‘enable add in’ exe in the BO directories.
Secondly in Xcelsius 2008 all seems to work fine until I try to export or import form the repository/Enterprise location, when an error is thrown: The secEnterprise DLL could not be found or does not exist.
The DLL is present in the BO directories and the registry has an entry for it (this is all on the same server as Edge 3.1 as this is for a proof of concept).
