Liveoffice How does it show up on Office list?

I just installed Liveoffice onto my machine and then an add on got added. In excel it says Business Objects , should it really be saying Liveoffice is there any difference between the Two?

Thanks.

That is the correct (only) menu. Marketing reasons maybe? Or just a name that is less likely to change (company name versus product name)? Who knows …

Umm - mine says “LiveOffice” in all of the MSOffice products.

Mine says ‘Live Office’ too… is there any difference?

I think it has to do with the version of Live Office you are using. I did some testing of different versions (Off the top of my head I don’t remember exactly which version) and the menu option was ‘Live Office’ in one and ‘Business Objects’ in another. Also as I recall when you do an uninstall the menu in MS Office doesn’t remove itself correctly.

I am seeing as ‘Business Objects’

For LiveOffice 11.5, it says ‘Business Objects’
For LiveOffice 11.7 or later, it says ‘LiveOffice’

Can anyone tell me what I need to install to get from 11.5 to 11.7?

First, install SP2 on the server, then the Productivity Pack on the server as well. Finally, on the workstations install the Live Office version from the SP2 collaterals disk, which is designed specifically to work with the Productivity Pack.

Thank you.
The SP2 set of discs we got are for version 11.5. When I installed Live Office from the collaterals disk, it installed Live Office 11.5. I don’t know what to download from BO to upgrade my Live Office to 11.7. --?

You know, I’m not sure where the 11.7 reference came from. I have a SP2 installation with Productivity Pack patched through FP2.5, and the Live Office version is 11.5.8.1029.

Here is maybe a stupid question. What is Live Office vs Business Objects ?
I have used BO for years but never Live office

LiveOffice is a technology that allows you to include “live” content from WebI and/or Crystal in MS Office documents. You should download the documentation from the tech support site and learn about it.

Ya know…I ended up getting 11.7 by calling customer support. They reluctantly set me up with a link to an ftp site where I had 48 hours to download version 11.7. It was important for me to get version 11.7, because we need the query panel functionality. Our users now have to migrate their BusinessQuery queries manually over into 11.7. 11.5 didn’t include the query panel.

Are you on SP2? If not, this isn’t going to work anyway.

Yes, we are on SP2, but our software media pack came with LiveOffice 11.5 and not 11.7. I have installed 11.7 and it works beautifully.
