did anybody ever have this issue? we can connect to our BO server just fine using live office, listing reports, browsing folders etc. works just fine, but when selecting a report from which to insert data into excel/word, it takes forever (~5 minutes) until the report is shown and data sets to insert can be select.
opening the same report in InfoView works ok, no delays like this.
what is the difference in communication between using InfoView and Live Office? Something has to be different, but I don’t know what it might be, so it’s very hard trying to find the bottleneck…
Even I am facing the same issue. The MS Office version used by me is Office XP with Live Office XI 3.1.
A very simple report takes like forever to be fetched in the excel using live office. I also tried to pull in a scheduled Web Intelligence report but that too takes long time. This ultimately effects the Xcelsius Dashboard loading time.
Any update with this? I have the same problem, I’ve updated the time out value in the registry to 20 mins. Oddly using a universe query directly form Excel via Live Office is fine, but as soon as a webi report is inserted or refreshed it all goes pear shaped!
I found the reason behind the problem. It was because my tomcat server (or the web server which would host your live office services) was overloaded and hence the processing was very slow.
The alternative which I used was to use the services of a less loaded server.
The problem occurs when you try to access the BO dashboards from the invoview and this takes a long time as usual.
Refers to Performance problem.
The webintelligence running on live office timeout distributed cluster apache 2.2 tomcat 6 complex LiveOffice Hang.
Refered to note 1542343 - Importing Web Intelligence report using Live Office is slow and hangs, and just tried the workaround instead importing the fix pack.
Replacing dsws-common-provider.jar and dsws-reportengine-provider.jar files attached in the notes on foloowing location C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\lib, had a big change on performance. https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/9762?back=false
