As Live Office SP2 does not support MOLAP I was wondering what the options are. I have found the 3 tier Voyager to be functionally richer than OLAPI but again, we are lacking in interactivity within Excel (as much as we hate to admit it, everyone still uses the spreadsheet).
I am currently evaluating SSAS (Micrcosoft’s Analysis Services 2005) and am able to produce interactive reports in Excel using the Microsoft Solutions Cube Analysis Add-in. A while back I responded to Santhanam’s post about looking for an SDK alternative and have since decided to bin that idea for obvious reasons.
Does anyone have inside info about whether BO would look at designing similar functionality to the MS Add-in?
