BusinessObjects Board

Live office installation

Hi,
I need some help installing Live office, the machine is running Microsoft 2003 and installed Live Office 3.1.
Install goes fine until i try and set up my web service, When I am enter the Web Services URL as: http://wfdsprodbo:8080/dswsbobje/services/session it doesn’t accept it and the error says Null Parameter session (N/A 0000)
When I check services online I see that the url for Session it says it is active.

Thanks

Have you entered your BOE user name and password?

Thanks for replying,
Yes I have tried entering them to try and make the error go away, but that doesn’t work either, it just isn’t accepting the web service URL

Did you resolve this?

May I know the version of Business Objects you’re using?

Please note that the Live Office and BO version need to be the same (Even the Patch Level needs to be the same).

Hi Guys - Did anyone managed to resolve this issue? My client is currently facing the same issue. They are getting the “Null parameter session (N/A 00000)” error when validating the Web Services URL.

Is it mandatory to include 8080 as the port in the URL?

Client on BOEXI 3.1 SP6.

You need to include the port in the URL.

The entries for logging in are as follows:

User Name:
Password:
Web Services URL: http://:8080/dswsbobje/services/session
System: :6400
Authentication:

eg.
User Name: kapittock
Password: abc123
Web Services URL: http://wfdsprodbo:8080/dswsbobje/services/session
System: wfdsprodbo:6400
Authentication: Enterprise

The servername in the Web Services URL may need to be the fully resolved name eg. .abcde.com.au:8080

Hope that helps!

Thanks Kelly! Appreciate the response.

While troubleshooting, I also did add in the port 8080, still it didnt work. Only later to realise that the reason is because some of the client machine are on the older version of Live Office (SP4) instead of Live Office (SP6). Seems like if the server has already been patched to SP6, it will not be backward compatible for clients on SP4.

Some if any encounter the error “Null parameter session” might want to either try reinstalling or check if the version are the same between your server and client, if all else fail.
